Synth-phonic Metal-Core? Apparently that’s a thing. Tampa, Florida new comers Chasing Airplanes entered the metal scene in 2020 with a set of singles and debut EP ‘Welcome to the Show’. With pleasant vocal and drum coordination, heavy guitars and bright synths; Kyle Jeffcoat, Jared Bokish, Jake Hodges, and Tyler Murin meld together to create something unique, yet familiar. I thought my angsty teen phase ended after high-school, but with soft melodic sections that remind me of Rise Against and hefty breakdowns landing somewhere between Underoath and The Amity Affliction, what’s not to love?
